Joe Terry

Born in Pasadena, Texas, Joe is a life-long resident of Houston. After graduating law school, Joe accepted a position with the Houston-based law firm of Royston, Rayzor, Vickery & Williams L.L.P., one of the nation’s premier admiralty and maritime law firms.
Joe left Royston Rayzor to co-found Terry & Thweatt, P.C. with Lee Thweatt, where he focuses his national practice on representing individuals involved in maritime and offshore accidents, 18-wheeler accidents, burn and brain injury matters as well as serious personal injury and wrongful death matters.
Lee Thweatt

Lee is a native Texan whose practice entails catastrophic personal injury,wrongful death, product liability, employment, and business litigation cases. Lee has obtained extensive first chair, civil trial and litigation experience resulting in several multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements.
He has been repeatedly named by Texas Monthly magazine to its annual listing of “Rising Stars”–a selection bestowed upon less than 2.5 percent of eligible Texas attorneys under the age of 40 and was elected to The National Trial Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40.″
Marie Olivier
Paralegal
Marie was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from James Madison High School and went on to attend two years at Texas A&M University. She returned to Houston and later obtained her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from Remington College.
Marie has excelled as a paralegal, focusing on personal injury matters. Marie serves as one of our primary paralegals with personal injury, maritime, and wrongful death matters. She has been with Terry & Thweatt, P.C. since 2009, and with almost twelve years of experience in the legal field, she executes her work with the utmost efficiency and professionalism.
She loves spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their pets. With a family background from Mexico, she is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Kimmie McElrath
Paralegal
Kimmie was born in Rockford, Illinois. She moved to Houston in 2001 and graduated from Katy Taylor High School in 2006. Kimmie later received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Technology from Houston Community College.
Kimmie has been with Terry & Thweatt since 2014, and her dedication and attention to detail make her a valuable asset to our office and to our clients. She has learned to implement her academic learnings with her past experience in family and criminal matters to excel in our main area of practice: personal injury.
Kimmie enjoys family time with her husband and three sons. She has a family background from Colombia and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
